I recently saw "Give my Regards to Broad Street." When I saw it at first couple of decades ago, I didn't like it. I saw it because of a supposed "death clue"- Paul and another guy are walking into BBC when they meet an interviewer andcPaul's companion says, "Do you know William?" After viewing the scene several times, it appears that "William" is the interviewer. Talk about bursting a bubble! There is however another William in the movie- William Rathe (Wrath, get it?) who runs the record comany. As the flick is supposed to take place in Paul's subconcious mind, no comment. Ther is also an interesting sequence in which Paul is performing "Eleanor Rigby" and "Foir NO One," and his mind wanders into a fantasy sequence where he visualizes being in a graveyard and witnessing a murder (no comment.) After he finishes the songs,he says "I'm out f here," and rushes off in a car whose liscence plater reads "PM1". Finally at the end, he is sitting in a train staion, looking sad, visualzing himself as a busker in the same station singing "Yesterday" (and mutilating it.) Is he hinking of his past, or his future if he is found out? I've thought that if Paul really is a double he might have written the first draft of the film saying the stolen record tape had songsrevealing his true identity- that was hy he was desparate to get it back. And the film was watered down (alas.) If nyone else saw the film and saw something interesting, let us know.

If memory serves me right, that there was alot of production problems and delays in the making of this film. I never thought about it until I read the thread, that perhaps there were problems with making the film if there were clues about PID and someone didn't want it out. But caused things to be postponed. I barely remember the film, but it would not surprise me at what Faul had done.

I have a book that accompanied the movie that I got as a "bonus" along with something I bought on Ebay. Some bonus some might say, heh. Still, some stuff looked interesting, I'll scan a thing or two.
It's always been a challenge to nail down exactly what that movie is supposed to be about, aside from the lost tapes, it seems to be a device for joining a series of music videos. Bill uses a lot of energy on the visual presentation, and visually, it was quite full of eye candy, depending on your point of view. Point is, if you are looking for symbols, you have to look at it from that angle, instead of trying to discern clues from the story.

Here is a page from the book. The one thing that is somewhat curious is the billboard for BBC4 (a new TV channel) that says: "We interrupt this poster to bring you Britain's first new TV channel for 18 years". (meaning, since 1966)

Notice the Billboard to the upper right hand corner? "Maccenstein" with a rose in his mouth? Also curious as to the sign behind Bill....I wonder what that reads? Hm...Just curious if anything in this pic may have some meaning....

Hmmm, dunno if this is what you meant JoJo but, it doesn't look like the reflection is the same as the "real" face.
Another side point; Check out his hair line, looks blurred and artificial to me.

I thought the reflection looked a bit like the real Paul McCartney

The reflectiion gets distorted (squished vertically) somewhat, but it does seem to elicit a JPM look.

I thought the reflection looked a bit like the real Paul McCartney That's a creepy thing to do! It looks a lot like JPM. Most definately not the reflection of what's above.

Oh my God. It may be a reflection... but I'm not so sure. There are differences that can just be attributed to the angle it's being reflected at (which would be different from the angle of the camera)... but I'm not so sure. It would require some heavy, professional analysis. From what I can tell, it looks like the reflection's mouth is open wider. No teeth are showing. The microphone doesn't go as low in the reflection. More of his forehead is obscured by hair. ...James Paul?

I say this with great hesisitation, but if that is a superimposed image and not just a trick of reflection, then that's James Paul McCartney in his mid-'40s.

I have to wonder if this is JPM or a faultered image? The eyelids look rather strange as well as the face is longer and thinner, more like Bill's. But the reflection in the piano is definitely JPM. I remember that it was delayed in production of this movie quite a bit. Bill had some major problems. But I don't remember what they were, or if they even really told. But Bill took quite some time to place these little morsels, subliminally trying to reaffirm that he's JPM.

In his dreams ! NOT in reality. I honestly don't know if it was touched. It's a capture from the " The Beatles are bigger than Jesus " interview. As usual, poor Paul got to be the spokesman for the group. I chose it, because he looks so unhappy.

I have to wonder if this is JPM or a faultered image? The eyelids look rather strange as well as the face is longer and thinner, more like Bill's. I don't think it's been retouched. I have the interview on about five different DVDs from different sources with wildly varying quality, but it's the same in each one. The key is not so much the shape of the head but rather the distance of the eyes from the nose. While I believe some photos of Paul have been "stretched," the main thing they're trying to do there is to make his head seem thinner. I think Paul's head was pretty much the same size as Bill's, but Paul had chubbier cheeks (so it only looks like his head is rounder at times). In my opinion, I think this is more of a clue put in on purpose that he isn't James Paul. I'm not seein' the age thing, but I definately see JPM. Maybe it's just the classic case of seeing the old woman instead of the young lady (and seeing what I want to see, since I'm so gung-ho about the PWR-But-Didn't-Die Theory right now ), but I see an older JPM there. The face has slight wrinkles, the nose is a bit more freckled, and a bit of weight has been put on.

Now i think, the most interesting clue here (at my point of view) was the Broad Street initials, you know, B S (Bill Shepherd), Give me regards to Bill Shepherd?

Thanks Wings for your thoughts and the side by side. I can only agree that the reflection is NOT a mirror image of the man playing the piano. It's subliminal yes, but not buried real deep, You need only turn the book around. Again..careless, much like many of his lyrics.
